hi Ananda,

Seems wordpress had converted the “<” into tags. You don’t have to remove the ORACLE_HOME but following directories

rm -rf $ORACLE_HOME/(hostname_sid)
rm -rf $ORACLE_HOME/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_(hostname)_(sid)

I have corrected the post.

Amit,
I currently have database 10.2.0.4.
I am following your above steps to install GC 10.2.0.5 on 10.2.0.4 database
You have mentioned to remove all folder under $ORACLE_HOME.
Right now in my current installation, i have the data files under $ORACLE_HOME.
So, if i delete all folders under $ORACLE_HOME, even the 10.2.0.4 database will be delete.

Please suggest.

Hi,

You can follow the exact steps mentioned above to do the installation. In my post I have mentioned way in which we do not configure grid during 10.2.0.1 base installation and perform configuration at time of 10.2.0.4 installation. This is feature provided from 10.2.0.4 GC (known as Installing Software-Only and Configuring Later)

Hi,
Currently I am having Database as 10.2.0.4 without grid control.
Now i need to have 10.2.0.4 grid control which needs 10.2.0.1 grid control as a base version for Higher version of grid control.
So do i need to downgrade 10.2.0.4 database to continue with the upgradation of Gridcontrol by below path
10.2.0.1 database to install 10.2.0.1 grid control or
i can directly install 10.2.0.1 grid control on top of 10.2.0.4 database and then upgrade to 10.2.0.4 grid control by using upgrade existing database or install software only using existing database.
