1. I don’t think it is writing anywhere else..
2. The listeners scans vips are part of nodeapps and managed separately. Cannot comment about the nodes status , you have to check the alert log file to know this.

Yes it is possible to bring it up on one node… for that you need to set the cluster_database=false and threads=1 in the spfile and restore/recover (It will become a single instance database.)
If you want it to be RAC then you can use “ONE NODE RAC” new feature for 11gR2.

In 10.2.0.4, if we do not want to apply patch, we can do this by setting event 5614566 at session level and then using dbms_shared_pool.purge (may have to run dbmspool.sql if purge is not present)

I have not used container/zones but you can follow Metalink 1019682.1 it describes zones/containers creations. hope this helps.

From “ORCL:DISK1” it seems that you are using ASMLIB on your server.
I searched from Metalink and found on doc which explains the same issue as you are having. As per doc, this problem occurs if voting disk is not available to the system.
You need to do the following changes:
1. As root run the following command:
#/usr/sbin/oracleasm configure -i -e -u oracle -g dba -o “dm” -x “sd”
2. Restart the asmlib
Then proceed with the step where you left with.

I am not sure that instance with most recent scn will become master node.
to find out the master node number, as I stated earlier:
$ vi ocssd.log
and fine out for value “master node number”, it will show you the number of master node.
Other than this, I am not aware of any particular command to find out master node number.

As I am aware: the node which boots-up first is the master node but if the master node shuts down, the node with the lowest node number will become master node and dynamic remastering of the resources will take place.
To find out the master node for particular resource, you can query v$ges_resource for MASTER_NODE column.
To find out which is the master node, you can see ocssd.log file and search for “master node number”.
